This year my fiends and i decided we wanted to do some racing, in a proper league, with proper drivers. We collectively bought a rolling chassis and engine and entered the championship.
It's an amateur kart league called f400. The "f400" comes from the 400cc 4 stroke honda engine we need to use. There are 10 endurance races in the season ranging from 4hours to 12. Long and hard racing, wohoo!
This is a pic is from Race 3 at Zwartkops kart track. We came 8th overall for the day(4 heats of 1 hr).
The pic was taken by a friend who we like to call our personal photographer/Manager/Beer organiser/Joker!
*me in the pic at the end of heat 3.
*Update - We finished the season 7th overall(out of 35 or so teams competing), not easy when you have some of the the pro's from nationals competing on days when they don't have 2 stroke duties... We also got the trophy for best rookies, yeah!
I know... I have a close friend who pilots a Rallye Seat Ibiza Cupra (group N: stock cars) and he is always working on the car for the championship. So much work is compensated at the end, last saturday he was second beating cars such as Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX. Maybe you don't see the reward right now, but don't be impacient, wait untill the end ^^. And always, have fun ^^
Ya the guys round the paddock are impressed with our pace. We're very inexperienced but have had good reliability so far. We can't buy or modify experience but we're naturally super competitive and are striving to be the best! Most of the top teams have been doing this series for 5 years or more, to see a bunch of noobs upstage them 4 races in is fun...
Keep on pushing!!
PS: sorry for bad English... ^^
You have all my support ^^
